Using Density in Choosing Foam Crib Mattress

Using Density in Choosing Foam Crib Mattress

The foam crib mattress is one of the most important things you need to buy for your new baby.Since your little angel will sleep in the crib for a year or so, it is just as important that you choose a mattress that would be safe and comfortable for the little one.But of course, you have to be really careful in shopping for the crib mattress.First, you have to measure the size of the crib to be used. The measurement of the mattress should fit that of the crib.It should not be spaced too far from the crib's edges so that your baby will not dangerously slip in between the sides. You must also choose a foam crib mattress that is very firm and varying in density. You must be knowledgeable about the fact that the density factor is much more important than how thick it may be.You must select a mattress for the crib that has at least 1.5 pounds per cubic inch.If it does not say its amount of density, then you can just press it with the tip of your finger right into the middle part of the mattress. If it indents the foam instantly, then the foam crib mattress is way too soft. But if you have to apply some more pressure to let the foam indent, then it has sufficient amount of density. You can find lots of options in the market today but you still have to shop around wisely to settle for the best one that you can find.
