5.0 out of 5 stars Not just light but super portable., April 14, 2011

First of all, I have both the regular joovy room2 and this ultra light model. I started off with the regular room2 and liked it so much that I sold my Chico 3-in-1 on craiglist and bought the ultra light.

Anyways, the huge advantage of the ultralight is that you don't have to disassemble it to move it. With pretty much every other play yard you at least have to take the bottom mattress out (including the regular joovy room 2). This can be a pain in the butt/back as it involves bending over/getting on your hands and knees to remove various retaining straps and snaps. Then, when you get it set back up you have to refasten everything.

However, with the ultralight you just pull up on the middle handle, push two buttons to collapse the sides, and fold it in half. No messing with little straps or snaps. This makes it an awesome play yard to take out on the back porch to give the baby some outdoor time and then quickly take it back in if it starts raining/etc. It also... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great size and weight, October 4, 2011

This review is from: Joovy Room2 Ultralight Playard Black (Baby Product)
The Joovy Room2 Ultralight is a great size. Most toddlers would have no problem sleeping in it. I wanted a product I could use for a variety of grand children and this works well. It is not without issues though. It is very unwieldy to move from room to room. And because the mat is supported by the floor, it is difficult to lay down a sleeping child if you are short of stature like me. The 'sheet' is difficult to put on the mat because the mat must be removed to do so and the mat has to be snapped onto the support bars to stay in place. All that said I still like it and gave it 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality, April 10, 2011
This review is from: Joovy Room2 Ultralight Playard Black (Baby Product)
The quality of materials and construction is top quality. Setup took 15 min. Take down and quick fold a bit tricky the first couple times but you get the hang of it. Quick fold letting you collapse just 2 sides, fold together and secure is very handy. Lots of room and padding is plenty thick for a baby's weight while firmly supported as it sits on the floor. Our living room is small so this fits better than the full size but still almost 40% bigger than typical pack and plays at about the same weight. If you have plenty of space and won't need to fold easily on a frequent basis, get the full size. But this is suitable as a primary at home playard if you'd like those added features for a small tradeoff in size and cost.
