93 of 95 people found the following review helpful Solid, but beware: Needs some improvements, By Savvy Shopper "The Savvy Shopper" (New York) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Graco Element Pack 'N Play Playard with Bassinet, Splash (Baby Product) I purchased this pack-n-play after doing a a lot of research and wanted to get good "bang" for the bucks. Overall it is solid. It feels sturdy and the wheels on one end make it easy to move around. It will be a great help as we travel and baby grows. You will still probably want to get a mattress as the "mattress" that consists of the four folding panels is thicker than I expected but still seems like it could be uncomfortable. If you think of a pad the folds rather than the way a yoga pad rolls up, you can get the idea of how it packs up. (Note: a 1-inch thick matress for babies is recommended by health/safety profesisonals, anything thicker can be hazardous.)Here are some things to keep in mind. If you are looking to use it as the play yard or without the bassinet and other features, it will be faster to assemble and break down and it's good value for the money. If you are looking to use it more like your primary crib for your first couple months think carefully... We use it every day and find the bassinet very helpful not having to lean into a crib to pick up the baby is so convenient. The changing table is my second favorite part it wipes up easily but it is a little lower than I expected and can not be adjusted. It works well for me as I am not that tall but my husband will have a more difficult time with it, still better than having to use the floor. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Things to think about for 1st time parents, By lkb (state college, pa) - See all my reviews This review is from: Graco Element Pack 'N Play Playard with Bassinet, Splash (Baby Product) I got the previous version of this playard ("Splash") from my registry. My son is now 6 weeks old, and we've had it set up as our downstairs crib since before he was born.In general, I really like the playard... the colorway is great and gender neutral (although I guess this is irrelevant now). Setting it up looked pretty straightforward, although my husband still managed to get fairly aggravated while doing so. He's not convinced that he'll ever get it back into the bag, but... we haven't tried yet. When I was doing my research on which playard to get, I convinced myself that I needed the bassinet feature (crucial!) and that a changing station would be pretty important as well. Being first time parents, we had no idea what to expect, and I know that many people who wrote reviews found these features to be really wonderful. I can say now, after 6 weeks of using the playard daily, we've never used either the bassinet or the changing station. Why... Read more |
