The Bassinet feature is wonderful! I am currently onto the 2nd level because my baby outgrew the bassinet. It's very spacious & I love how both levels have great mesh ventilation on the sides. It's a very attractive play yard too. The only thing that could use improvement would be the mat. It's not washable & the cover is not removable. So when baby spits up, it soaks threw the fitted sheet & seeps into the mat. It's very hard to clean. I recently purchased some "large multi-use waterproof" pads at Babies R Us that I have been placing underneath the fitted sheet to protect the mat. I have to lay her at an angle to keep her from almost being on her side. Also, the changer sits rather low so you have to bend over pretty far to tend to the baby. Half way thru changing I have to stop for a second and stand up to stretch my back. I am about 5'7 so not super tall. Wish I would have seen one and "tried" it out at a store before purchasing and putting it... We had her very comfortably in the bassinete from birth to 3 months and now have graduated her to the "2nd" level, which is a lot larger.The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that on this second level the "mattress" seems awfully hard. When I'm changing my daughter and she kicks away, I can her the thumping sound it makes against the hard mat. I assume it's due to safety, not sure, but the bassinete didn't seem as hard.
